Steak Fillet with Crushed Potato

Summer is all about barbecues and steaks and quick lunches and sunny days. Unfortunately 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us but that doesn’t mean we cannot have a barbecue day with the family and enjoy taking things slower.

So here goes, the steak fillet recipe with crushed potatoes for two people:


  • 400g lean beef fillet

  • Spices: salt, pepper, a knob of butter

  • 4 small new potatoes


  • Leave the meat out of the fridge until it reaches room temperature.
  • Heat up a good pan and drizzle a tbps of cooking oil. It needs to be hot.
  • Place the fillets in and cook it about 4 minutes on each side for a medium steak. Take it out on a wooden board and cover with a bowl for 10 minutes.
  • Boil the potatoes about 3/4 of the way. Crush them with a meat mallet add some olive oil and some spices and bake for 20 mins at 180C.

Serve this steak fillet and crushed potatoes with joy and enjoy these quiet times at home with the family. Because nothing compared to a family day than gorgeous and tasty food.

Tip: For max tastiness add a knob of butter over the warm steak and watch it melt away your sorrows.
